Say Something (A Shawn Mendes Fanfic)
Chapter 1 Chapter 2 Chapter 3
I was still a little in shock at the fact that Nash had actually asked me out. I could feel myself blush at the thought of us possibly dating after this. What makes this even better is that this is the perfect way for me to get over Eric.
I went through my suite case trying to find something to wear that was perfect for a date yet appropriate for a carnival on the beach. I needed some help and since Emily was all the way back home, and I didn’t want to ask Peyton to come all the way back over here for such a short period of time, I decided to use the next best person. I took my phone out and texted Shawn to come over immediately. Then just like that, there he was knocking on my door.
"What’s wrong? Are you okay?" He asked frantically.
"Yeah, why would’t I be?" I laughed.
He looked at me confused. “You texted me saying that it was an emergency and to come over now.”
"Yeah I need you to help me pick out an outfit." He glared at me and shook his head coming into the room.
"Okay what are your options?" I motioned over to the bed where I had two possible choices laying out. The first option was a pair of black shorts, a white tank top, green jacket, and black combat boots. The other option was a light wash jean shirt, creme color ruffled shorts, and tan sandals.
Shawn examined both as he pretended to be stroking a beard. I couldn’t help but laugh a little at how stupid he looked doing that.
"Don’t mock me." He paused for a second looking over the outfits one last time. "I think I like that one." He said pointing to the first choice.
"So is that what you’re wearing for tomorrow?" I shook my head.
"Actually it’s what I’m wearing on my date with Nash tonight."
He was silent. I looked at him with a raised eyebrow confused by his sudden change in mood.
"Are you okay?" I asked him.
"You’re going on a date..with Nash?" He questioned. I nodded my head slowly.
"That’s what I said isn’t it?"
Yet again he stayed silent. What was his problem? I honestly thought he would be happier for me since I wasn’t crying over jackass a.k.a Eric.
"I don’t think you should go out with him." He simply stated. I quickly turned and looked at him with a questioning look. Did he really just say that?
"Um and is there a reason as to why you feel that way?"
He shrugged. “I just don’t think that he’s good for you.”
I couldn’t help but chuckle a little out of shock at what he was saying. “And who are you to tell me who is and isn’t good for me?” I said beginning to get annoyed.
"Your best friend." He began to raise his voice.
"Well maybe the so called best friend should mind their own business." I spat. He looked slightly taken a back by what I said but quickly composed himself.
"Maybe I should have minded my own business when you came crying to me about your ex cheating on you." My eyes widened at his harsh statement.
"Get the hell out of here!" I shouted. He rolled his eyes and stormed out of the room slamming the door behind him.
What the hell just happened?
"Are you sure you’re okay?" Nash asked me for the 10th time that night. I smiled and nodded. I guess I was still a little caught off guard by Shawn and I’s argument.
"I’m fine." I told him. I looked down at his hand and intertwined mine with his. I looked back up at him and saw that he had a smile plastered on his face.
The entire night was amazing. We got on lots of different rides and played almost every single game. Of course Nash being a guy always offered to pay for me but I told him that if he spent one dollar on me I would throw his wallet into the ocean.
For our last game though I did let him pay because he looked at me with those big, blue eyes and I couldn’t say no. It was one of those games where you had to throw a ball and hit the moving target. Like the uncoordinated little shit that I am ended up missing three times so Nash and I both decided that If I wanted to win anything that he should take the last shot. Without effort he hit the moving target.
"You can pick something from the bottom shelf only." The guy running the stand said monotonously. Wow I bet he doesn’t hate his job one bit.
"I’ll take that little tiger." Nash said. The guy sighed handing him his prize. Nash looked down at the small tiger beanie baby and then at me.
"Here, this is for you." He said handing it to me. I smiled.
"Thank you. I’ll make sure I treasure this forever." I joked. Nash began laughing wrapping his arm around my shoulders.
"I had an amazing time tonight Cassie." Nash said standing in front of my door.
"So did I." I said looking down at my feet. Neither of us said anything for a second. Nash awkwardly coughed. I looked back up at him and say that he was already looking at me. I gave him a small smile. He returned the smile and began to slowly lean in before I felt the touch of his lips on mine.
The kiss was small but sweet but I didn’t mind. When we pulled away I glanced over to the side and noticed that Shawn was standing there starring at us. I quickly looked away and turned back to Nash giving him another kiss on the cheek.
I looked glanced back over to see Shawn. He scoffed, rolling his eyes and began walking back the opposite way.
